Valerie Defert
Reporter I Filmmaker I Co-founder
Valerie Defert is a reporting journalist and a documentary producer focused on stories about human rights and social change. She is the co-founder of For Your Information Production.
Valerie started her career in 2006, working for the international 24/7 news network France 24, based in Paris. She became France 24’s correspondent in Brazil and covered stories all over South America. Valerie moved to Los Angeles to cover the 2012 US presidential elections and has worked as a documentary producer and reporter in California ever since. Whenever possible, she volunteers with organizations such as United Nations Women USA and FoodCycle LA.
Pierrick Leurent
Reporter I Director I Co-founder
Pierrick has been a journalist since 2009. He spent the first decade of his career at France 24 - as an anchor and a reporter in Paris, France. From 2013 to 2016, he became a correspondent for France 24 in Cairo and Jerusalem. He moved to Los Angeles in 2018, and since then has been covering news on the West Coast for France 24 and M6. He also films longform reports and works as head of photography for international networks. Together with Valerie, he has received three Foreign Correspondent awards from the Los Angeles Press Club.
Loïc Pialat
Videographer I Multimedia journalist
Loïc began his career in 2005 as a journalist at France 3’s regional affiliates. For years he wrote for sports network L’Equipe TV and for news website Europe1.fr. He’s been based in the United States since 2012, and now works for several media outlets such as Radio France, France 24, AFP, BFM-TV, sports channel L’Equipe, and news website Courrier international.
Wassim Cornet
Reporter I Videographer
Wassim is a Belgian-Algerian journalist. He grew up in Belgium, England, and Morocco, before getting a master's degree in journalism at City, University of London. He began his career in 2016 at France 24 in Paris—first as an assistant producer, before moving on to desking, reporting, and anchoring newscasts. Since January 2023 he's been in Los Angeles covering the US West Coast for France 24 both in French and English.
